Professional Profile

Ling Ma is admitted to the bars of Saskatchewan, British Columbia, and Alberta in Canada. She is currently a Senior Lawyer and Head of Litigation and Dispute Resolution at Benesh & Biz Law Firm and has long been active in legal practice across Western Canada, particularly in Saskatchewan, British Columbia, and Alberta. In addition to her core role at Benesh & Biz, Ling is also the founding partner of Evercrest LLP, a Vancouver-based cross-border legal platform focusing on international legal services. She also maintains close collaboration with legal teams in Calgary, forming a coordinated practice network across Western Canada to provide integrated and multi-jurisdictional legal solutions for clients.

Ling is an accomplished litigation lawyer specializing in complex commercial, civil, and cross-border dispute resolution. Her clients include large multinational corporations, Canadian natural resource companies, major financial institutions, and small and medium-sized local enterprises. She has represented clients in numerous matters involving significant monetary claims, multi-jurisdictional disputes, and highly sensitive issues. Over more than a decade of practice, she has established an outstanding reputation in complex litigation strategy, cross-border case coordination, courtroom advocacy, and risk control.

In complex transnational matters, Ling is responsible for overall litigation strategy, evidence organization, expert coordination, and collaboration with cross-border legal teams. In cross-border legal matters, she is not only an advisory lawyer skilled in negotiation and transaction structuring, but also an international dispute resolution lawyer with substantial frontline litigation experience. She has demonstrated strong leadership in representing foreign enterprises in Canadian judicial proceedings and in handling corporate insolvency, shareholder disputes, and commercial breach cases. She is familiar with Canadian courts, arbitral institutions, and regulatory procedures, and is able to efficiently coordinate clients, experts, regulators, and external legal teams to maximize client interests in complex commercial disputes. Her services cover the entire lifecycle of foreign investment, with litigation and rights protection remaining one of the key foundations of her practice.

Ling has broad and extensive litigation experience in financial debt recovery, commercial contract breaches, real estate disputes, and responses to government enforcement actions. She has acted in numerous litigation matters involving equipment financing, commercial lending, and corporate fraud, and is skilled in using litigation, asset preservation, and enforcement measures to efficiently protect clients’ legal rights. In addition, she is also an accomplished class action lawyer, having handled numerous large-scale cases involving consumer protection, data privacy breaches, and bank account fraud, with the ability to effectively organize common evidence and promote institutional reform and corporate accountability.

In addition to her outstanding commercial litigation practice, Ling also plays important roles in family law and guardianship disputes, administrative law disputes, and corporate governance matters. She has handled guardianship litigation involving public figures and cases challenging the legality of local government actions, demonstrating strong professional judgment and resilience in highly sensitive litigation matters. She also provides comprehensive legal support for corporate clients before and after disputes, including compliance review, risk prevention and control, dispute forecasting, and mediation and arbitration strategy design. As a core litigation lawyer within her firm, Ling has helped clients gain strategic advantages in complex legal conflicts through her outstanding advocacy skills and strategic case management abilities, making her a trusted litigation lawyer and legal advisor.
